Maura Miller has worked in clay ever since fourth grade. She graduated from the University of California at Santa Barbara with a BA in Studio Art and Cultural Anthropology. After six years as an archeologist, she came back to her artwork, and has been working as a potter ever since.
While at least 40 percent of her 3 dimensional work is functional, she loves making vessels for the sheer joy of exploring a shape that intrigues her. She cannot imagine ever growing tired of working in clay.
