Welcome new Potter Gailen Hudson

Welcome Gailen Hudson

Cultural influences to me are the earthenware of the Mississippian / Central and Southern Plains tradition of Native American pottery and the old functional ware of storage crockery, bowls, and whiskey jugs. I was introduced to the “art” side of clay by Angelo Garzio and Don Curtis. I was introduced to the “engineering” side of clay by a bunch of civil engineers and dirt contractors, and a brick of local clay. Clay is so down to earth.

Welcome Journey Well & Wise (Linda Flores)

Journey Well & Wise (Linda Flores) Natural Faery Houses

For many years I thought that Heartwood Gallery was a very special place, with outstanding artists and lovely ambiance.  I always imagined that one day, if I were very lucky, I would find a home for my art there.  So, when I finally had the opportunity to  apply to join this very talented coop, I gave it a try.  I am very happy and grateful to have a beautiful place to sell my “sculptures”.
I work in several mediums including paint and clay.
My new artist/writer name is Journey Well & Wise.  Come share the story.
Current work: unique, sculptural allegorical and whimsical faerie houses with their Fay-ette-ville Peace poles.  Incidentally, Fay-ette-ville translates to “Little Faerie Village”.  Come and see these curiously entertaining homes.  Take one home for your own faerie guest.
Well that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Welcome New Artist Kathleen Siegfried

I like to think of myself as an intuitive painter. So, I often begin with color rather than subject matter and let the colors show me where the painting will go, whether on paper, canvas, or claybord. My most successful paintings come from a combination of memory, imagination, and suggestion. A painting of sunflowers might begin with a wilted sunflower pulled from a dying arrangement. As I look at it on my desk I might imagine a single flower or a field full of them swaying in a gentle summer breeze.
