Welcome New Artist Hank Barnes!

Hank Barnes Heirloom Stained Glass

I have always had an appreciation for stained glass and an eye for color, so I established Heirloom Stained Glass Studio in 1987. The distinction of my work is a combination of being able to choose just the right colors and glasses for each project and the fact that I, personally, construct every project from conception to completion.

Welcome New Mosaic Artist Stephanie Tempest

Stephanie Tempest has been creating mosaics for the past three years and started Tempest Mosaic Studios in early 2014. Her artistic process begins with a sketch or colored drawing of the envisioned mosaic, and she strives to incorporate different & various materials in each finished piece including shells, stones, wood, and fired clay whenever possible.

12th Anniversary and Holiday Party!

Our 12th Year Begins

HEARTWOOD GALLERY is where you find locally made quality art at affordable prices. From its cheerful sidewalk flower garden and bright turquoise paint job to its funky old time interior Heartwood Gallery does not look like a typical gift shop, but inside you will find what gallery member Janet Greeson calls the “best-kept secret in Fayetteville,” an abundance of locally made quality art at affordable prices Heartwood Gallery is an artists’ collective located in south Fayetteville just north of the intersection of Martin Luther King and Government Streets.

There are no mass produced items here, everything is hand crafted within driving distance of Fayetteville by gallery members who take turns manning the shop. There is always an artist on hand to explain their work or to answer questions about the work of fellow artists. A wide range of art is displayed on the walls and on tables scattered throughout the shop. A selection of prints and original watercolor, oil, and acrylic paintings as well as hand colored etchings and pen and ink drawings are available. Terra cotta, ceramic and porcelain pottery selections range from whimsical creations to unique but practical mugs, bowls and dinnerware. Jewelry choices include stained or fused glass, porcelain, and wire wrapped fossils, crystals and stones. Unusual sun-painted shirts are available along with purses, hats, scarves, mittens, and slippers that are one-of-a-kind creations. Mosaics, baskets, gourd art, woodwork, clocks and truly imaginative lamps as well as greeting cards are also on display.

When gallery members are asked, “What would you like people to know about Heartwood Gallery?” the answers are varied. Fabric artist Suzanne Bullard wants the public to know that gallery members are a widely diversified group representing all forms of media and as local artists the money from sales goes right back into the local economy. Margery Shore, potter and long time gallery member, stated that she would like people to know that Heartwood Gallery is owned by a Anita and Edward Hejtmanek, two artisans who put the environment and family at the forefront. Susan Bell, basket weaver, states that the gallery is the place where customers come to find a special gift made locally.
